Educational mission of ACC
The Austin Community College District is the primary trainer and retrainer of the Central Texas workforce. The college is mandated by state law to offer a full range of educational programs and services:

How is Austin Community College doing on Closing the Gaps?
Closing the Gaps is a state-mandated, economic initiative requiring all Texas public colleges and universities to reverse a decline in college participation by enrolling 630,000 additional Texans by 2015. Sixty percent will enroll at community colleges, according to projections. Learn more.

- 13% increase in financial aid applications and an 11% increase in awards
- 9% increase in black enrollment
