This meeting was designed to introduce all faculty to each other and to begin discussions of the new evaluation procedures. Kathy Nabona related what information she had on Faculty Evaluations. A meeting was scheduled for February where a representative from FDO would come and discuss the process.


February Minutes

Visit by John Caparusso, FDO

John gave a presentation relating how the new evaluation process would be implemented. He consulted the packet sent to all full and adjunct faculty members. He answered questions and listened to concerns presented by the faculty.

Formation of Evaluation Subcommittee

As part of the adjunct evaluation process, a subcommittee was formed to review materials submitted by the faculty members (syllabus, final exam, Form A, etc.) and student evaluations. This subcommittee consisted of Art Meyer, Madan Mohan and John Young. Kathy Nabona was not chosen as she submits the comprehensive evaluation. Steve Kirschner was not chosen due to the evaluation submitted by Assistant Deans. The subcommittee agreed to meet and evaluate each adjunct member individually and send the results tot he Task Force Leader.

Adjunct Faculty Eligibility List

The adjunct faculty were informed that based on their evaluation their name may be placed on the eligibility list under the courses the Task Force qualified them to teach. This eligibility list is to be sent to John Hastings and used to staff adjunct members for the Summer and Fall semesters.

Advertisement of Full Time Chemistry Faculty Member

It was announced to the adjunct faculty that a new full time position in the Chemistry department was posted. This position will remain posted until filled. The Task Force recommended names of faculty to serve on the hiring committee. The names submitted to Dr. Rodi were Kathy Nabona, Art Meyer, Madan Mohan, Linnea Fletcher and John Young. Dr. Rodi said he would make the final decision as to the composition of the committee.
