Economics Department
Instructor's Manual

The purpose of this manual is to provide Economics instructors at Austin Community College with the information necessary for a successful educational experience. I have tried to pull together college and Task Force policies that are relevant to our educational pursuits. All information is as accurate as possible, but mistakes may happen and college policies are in constant flux. As corrections are discovered and policies change, updates will be sent to all Economics faculty members and posted on the ACC Economics web page ( I am also open to suggestions for future editions of this manual.

Remember, the Economics Department web site should prove helpful for all faculty. It contains the most up-to-date information on the department and the college. Included here are links to sites that contain information on frequently changing aspects of ACC and useful information on college procedures & updates. Available at the web page site are links to: the faculty evaluation process; faculty directory; faculty evaluation input form; agendas & minutes from task force meetings; office hours input/update form; textbook selection; staff directory; the current course schedule; ACC's academic calendar; and employment opportunities in the Economics Department.

Since part of the evaluation process focuses on class syllabi, you will find included the basic outline of what college and Task/Force expectations are. Please use the outline of the syllabus and the agreed upon learning objectives and learning objectives in preparing your course materials.

I hope you will find this endeavor helpful in your teaching here. Feel free to contact me or future Task/Force Chairs with your questions or concerns about this manual. As specific needs arise related to your teaching duties, feel free to contact the appropriate administrator based on the outline of duties found in Sections 14 & 15 of this manual. Best wishes for a meaningful and rewarding educational experience.
