Course Description

Topics/Lab

Principles of Cellular and Molecular Biology is a conceptual approach to the study of biological topics. It is an introduction to the nature of science, the characteristics of life, the molecular and cellular basis of life, genetics, reproduction and development. An emphasis will be placed on how these topics are related to current issues and problems facing modern society. Students are responsible for all information presented in class or found in the book.

This class meets for lecture twice a week with a lab following the one of the lecture periods. Films, guest lectures, and field trips may be used to enrich the class. Exams will cover material presented in lecture and during the lab period.
