Explained the problems with the student evaluations and why they were not distributed on January 18, 2002. They will be distributed the week of February 11.
Announced that adjunct Faculty Evaluation Input Forms were due on February 1, 2002, but the date has been delayed. When the forms are completed, faculty should print a copy of the form and send it to Stefan Haag, Pinnacle Campus.
Announced that servers at Highland Business Center are being moved between February 1 and February 4, 2002. Many services, such as e-mail and the college Web site, will not be available during the move.
Announced a professional development opportunity concerning the ADA and the Future of ACC. If interested, contact the Chair for more information.
Explained the $3 million budget shortfall and its effect on scheduling for both summer and Fall.
Announced that Cecile Durish won a NISOD Excellence in Teaching Award.
Announced that Stefan Haag was granted a sabbatical for the Fall 2002, Spring 2003, and Summer 2003 semesters.
Announced the TCCTA Meeting in Houston on February 21-23, 2002.
Announced that Norton was offering free videos for the department and asked members of the Task Force to indicate their preferences.
Announced that e-staffing for Summer would be done in February for MSTAs and Highest Priority to Hire and in March for all other adjuncts.
Announced that a draft of the Fall 2002 schedule is being prepared.
Announced that a Blackboard page for the Government Task Force will be created this summer. An IT specialist will help create the Web site, which will contain folders for different assignments that all faculty members can adapt to their own use. Gaye Lynn suggested that submissions of useful learning activities and exercises include a statement: "assignment created by (instructor's name). For more information, e-mail (address)." Submit materials to the Task Force Chair as an MS Word document.

· Announced that the Collegial Teaching Teams, placing adjunct faculty with full-time faculty for a two year period, had been formed. Distributed a roster of teams. Noted that contact information would be distributed via e-mail to full-time faculty, who should initiate contact with their team members.
Adjunct Faculty Committee: Nothing to report.
Faculty Development Committee: Karry Evans asked Task Force members to assist by providing ideas for Brown Bag Seminars. The committee is working on a Saturday session with publishers' book representatives to see what they have to offer (Web sites and other bells and whistles). Karry thanked Steve Williams for inviting Toby Futrell.
Faculty Evaluation: Stefan Haag reported that evaluation of portfolios was continuing. Evaluation deadlines have been delayed because the student evaluations have not been distributed. New deadlines will be established during the week of February 11, 2002.
Student Assessment: Marilyn Mote-Yale described the process for scoring the assessment instrument. She noted that 252 Texas assessments and 366 United States assessments were received. A discussion of the questions and the scoring rubric followed. The committee will revise the rubrics to incorporate the Task Force members' suggestions.
