Agenda Item: Student Assessment Committee Report

Discussion: Cecile presented the results of the 2006-07 student assessment and announced plans for the fall assessment.
Decision/Follow-Up items: Fall assessments instruments will be distributed by the time classes begin in the fall so that the pre-test can be given in selected sections during the first week of class.

Discussion: Lisa thanked Tina Buck for presenting our Brown Bag Seminar on Blackboard.
Decision/Follow-Up items: The fall book club selection is Lines in the Sand by Steve Bickererstaff. Plans are to have the meeting in early October so plan on enjoying the book during the summer and be ready to discuss it when we come back in the fall.

Discussion: Frank presented a report in Stefan’s absence which discussed options for assigning distance learning classes.
Decision/Follow-Up items: The department voted unanimously to continue using a round robin system
based on full-time tenure at ACC as the method of selecting distance learning
classes for the fall and spring semesters.

Discussion: Karry requested approval of Comparative Politics in Transition, 5th edition, for her Introduction to Political Science and Global Politics in a Changing World, 3rd edition, for her Globalization Honors course in U.S. Government.
