Agenda Item:            Chair's Report

Discussion:   

 

1. Portfolio Training will be held on Saturday, September 6 in 103.2 HBC at 10:00 am.

2. The Evaluation Committee is asking all faculty to review evaluation standards and send their comments to a member of the evaluation committee.

3. Our next department meeting will be on October 17, 2008.

4. Glen passed out and went over the fall welcome memo. All faculty were reminded to check the status of their ADA and sexual harassment training and to complete the online course if you are out of date.

5. Faculty were reminded of the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the need to make sure we follow the law. A detailed handout on FERPA is included in the Government Faculty Handbook.

Discussion:    Portfolio training will be held on September 6.

Discussion:    Jeff recognized Mike Gividen who will present a professional development workshop on Friday on "Community as Text".

Agenda Item: Curriculum Committee

Discussion:    The committee will meet soon to consider the revised proposed learning objectives for Government 2305 and hopes to have them ready for final adoption at the Department's October meeting.
