Date: 5/4/98
Attending: Stefan Haag, Gaye Lynn Scott, Jim Fowler, Margaret Dahl, Cecile Durish, Paz Pena, Rex Peebles, Judy Nwachie, Rick Collis, Frank J. Garrahan, presiding
1. Under protests from the chair, the chair was reelected for the 98-99 academic year.
2. Gaye Lynn Scott provided an overview of the work of the adjunct faculty evaluation process and its impact on the "highest priority" section of the adjunct faculty eligibility list for the Fall 98 semester. A more detailed synopsis will be sent to faculty in the near future.
3. David Crockett, no relation, gave a stimulating presentation of his doctoral research work on the president as opposition leader. Those faculty present got involved in the discussion and the intellectual juices flowed. Its good to see our faculty keeping up on current research and still caring so much for their chosen field of study. The chair hopes that in the future these symposiums will be a regular occurrence and the faculty will enthusiastically participate.
