LAB 19:

CANCER GENE DETECTION II (gel) LAB

Before doing this lab you should have completed the Paternity Testing Lab.  Look at the photos for that lab for information on loading a gel and preparing to run the gel.

  Why wear gloves?

Where will this sample A be put?

  Loading lane 1.

How can you tell that this is lane 1?

Is the gel positioned properly?  Explain.

  Gel ready to run.

  The power is now on.

  Marker dye moving further.

  Gel ready to stain.

Note the location of the marker dye. Why was it allowed to go that far?

  A result.

I know, this is difficult to read!   Its a good thing you have your drawing from your own gel.
