To improve student learning and retention through tutor training in application oftechnological resources.

Strategic Priority # 3:

Improve Student Retention and Educational Goal Completion of Students Attending ACC

Train tutors college-wide on available software, web-based resources, on-line tutoring, study skills, etc.

Research software and best technology practices and host demonstrations for tutors and faculty.

80% of Learning Lab tutors will be familiar with and be able to recommend specific software for individual student needs, including study skills.

Tutorial software and web-based tutorials usage by students will increase by 15%.

To improve accountability of Learning Labs through standardized reporting.

Strategic Priority # 8:

Ensure Increased Operating Effectiveness Through Improved Internal Administrative Processes, a Strengthened Infrastructure, and Consistent Use of Information for Planning and Decision Making

Generate standardized reports on student contacts and use of various Learning Lab services on a semester basis.

Instructional Lab Managers will work with ACC programmers to refine reports for all learning labs to be extracted from their common sign-in program. These reports will enable the labs to collect and circulate precise data on services and number of users at each ACC campus.

 

Learning Labs will be able to generate  common reports on student usage on a semester or annual basis.

Provide students and faculty the same level of support across campuses .

Ensure that the College has the Resources to Provide Excellence and Quality in All Programs Needed by the Community.

Acquire adequate and similar staffing table positions for computer and lab facilities at all ACC Learning Labs.

REQUESTS:

Request New Instructional Lab Manager position or Conversion of TLA III 50% to Instructional Lab Manager:CYP .

Provide needed clerical assistance for Learning Labs by adding:New Technical Office Assistant I position:EVC (1), NRG (1), PIN (1), RGC (1), and RVS (1).
 

Similar student and faculty services that are personnel dependent would be available at all ACC Learning Labs.

Student and faculty requests will behandled within 48 hours (in most cases).

Learning labs will have staff to generate needed reports, provide welcome assistance to students in labs orientation procedures, and provide systemized daily attendance reports and faculty referrals reports.
