Austin Community College (ACC) celebrates the fifth annual Central Texas College Signing Day with one of the largest contingents among colleges and universities represented, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Friday, April 26 at Concordia University (11400 Concordia University Dr.).
Inspired by the NCAA’s National Signing Day, College Signing Day celebrates high school seniors from more than a dozen Central Texas high schools for their post-secondary plans. More than 90 future Riverbats will sign letters of intent to continue their education at ACC after graduating high school this spring.
“These students are making a big commitment to their future. We’re here to honor and celebrate their educational accomplishments as we do with college athletes,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC President/CEO. “College is crucial to a better future, and ACC has a pathway for everyone.”
The event features a signing ceremony, performances by area college mascots including ACC’s R.B. the Riverbat, and musical entertainment by rapper SaulPaul. Spirit 105.9 morning host Amy Byrd and tv host and filmmaker Nate Araya also will attend.
Summer registration at ACC is now open. For more information or to enroll, visit austincc.edu/summer.
