Austin Community College (ACC) has been selected as an Adobe Creative Campus, which means students, faculty, and staff will have access to the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite for no-to-minimal cost starting Monday, April 15.
Under the agreement, ACC faculty and staff may receive a license for free. Students in the Arts, Digital Media & Communications area of study will receive Adobe Creative Cloud for $10 per semester. All other currently enrolled ACC students can purchase a semester-based license for $50 per semester.
"Creativity is a core competency in the 21st century, the driver of innovation and entrepreneurship," says Thomas Nevill, Arts and Digital Media dean. "Through the lens of equity and access, digital fluency is just as important as access and ACC will now be able to provide that access to all of our students throughout the district."
ACC is the first community college in the nation to receive this designation, joining institutions such as Boston University, University of Miami, and Penn State.
"The Creative Campus initiative started in 2015, gathering schools with a desire to foster creativity and learning to use digital tools as a core skill set," says Jason Katsoff, Adobe Customer Success Manager. "The schools involved will help improve student outcomes and stimulate critical thinking and learning for all students, regardless of area study and degree path."
ACC users will have access to industry leading tools for graphic design, video editing, and web development such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and Spark.
Creative Cloud replaces ACC's existing shared license structure under the TCCTA agreement.
