Put on your Riverbat T-shirt, hat, or anything purple to support the Austin Community College’s (ACC) commitment to student and community success with Riverbat Day on Wednesday, November 20. It celebrates nine years since ACC unveiled its official mascot R.B. and the Riverbat logo.
“R.B. unifies ACC. He is the only character on campus who can swing by a classroom and put smiles on faces to help make everyone feel welcome. By serving as the symbol of ACC’s values and mission, R.B. is building a college-going culture,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “ACC remains dedicated to providing pathways to higher education for everyone. By putting on our purple, we are honoring the excellence, pride, and determination of our ACC students and celebrating their success.”
Show your Riverbat pride — Wear purple
Students, alumni, employees, and community members can collect a free piece of Riverbat swag by wearing purple. Pick up a birthday souvenir (while supplies last) at one of the following locations:
Student Life offices on most campuses.
Campus Manager’s Office at Rio Grande Campus
Mailroom at Service Center
Office of Communications and Marketing at Highland Business Center
Also, the first 10 people who tag ACC’s Instagram page and share a photo of themselves wearing purple gear and using the #GoPurple hashtag will win some swag.

RB’s Birthday Visits
R.B. will be hitting up the district to celebrate his birthday. First, he will meet with students who have been motivated to start their college careers and work on their degrees while still in high school from 11 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, at Crockett Early College High School (5601 Manchaca Rd.).
Then watch out for your photo-op throughout the day when R.B. visits Rio Grande, South Austin, and Riverside campuses.
