Providing access to education requires support inside and outside the classroom, and Austin Community College (ACC) is working to meet those demands during Amplify Austin, a community-wide day of charitable giving, from 6 p.m., Thursday, March 5, through 6 p.m. Friday, March 6. 

ACC’s Alumni Network is participating to raise more than $5,000 through five different funds including:

• ACC Alumni Network Scholarship

• STEPS Adult Education program

• Student Emergency Fund

• Groceries & Gas for Academic Success

• The Office of Student Life’s Food Pantry Program

“This is our third year participating in Amplify Austin. For the first time we are letting donors voice where they want their donations to go,” says MaryAnn Cicala, ACC alumni director. “We need our ACC community to rally behind us for success. It doesn’t take much to make a difference in a student’s life. Just $25 will pay for a student’s parking pass.”

There are three ways to support ACC during Amplify Austin: 

1. Donate: Visit Amplify Austin: ACC Alumni Network to make a direct donation.

2. Raise funds: Recruit your friends to donate to the ACC Alumni Network Scholarship.

3. Share the love: Take a selfie with an "I amplify ACC because..." message to post on your own social media. Join the conversation with #AmplifyACC and #AmplifyATX.

Since the Alumni Network began participating in Amplify Austin in 2018, ACC has raised $5,800 which funded four scholarships.

Departments and employees making the biggest impact will be rewarded with prizes. 

• Top Employee: The employee who raises the most money for the ACC Alumni Scholarship will win two tickets to the Alumni Network's Riverbat Sunset Boat Cruise celebrating ACC's newest graduates in May.

• Top Recruiter: The employee who attracts the most individual donors will win two tickets to ACC Night at the Round Rock Express.

• Share the News: Any employee who sets up an Amplify page and makes three social media posts during Amplify Day OR raises at least $50 will win a limited edition pair of R.B. socks.

• Campaign Incentive - Most Unique Donors: The Amplify ACC campaign that brings in the largest number of unique individual donors will receive a financial award of $500 towards their project from the ACC Alumni Network.

• Campaign Incentive - Most Money Raised: The ACC Alumni Network will award an additional $500 toward the project that raises the most overall funds.

• Campaign Incentive- Power Hour: The campaign that receives the most donations during the power hour from noon to 1 PM on Friday, March 6 will receive up to $500 from the ACC Alumni Network.
