Austin Community College (ACC) will move all summer classes online for the summer 2020 semester to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the health and safety of students and employees. 

“We are in uncharted territories that require extraordinary teamwork to navigate. Our hope is to bring back in-class instruction as soon as possible, but our primary concern is the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff,” says Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO. “We know how challenging it was to make the transition to online courses in the middle of the spring semester. Our goal is to minimize disruption for summer. To help our students, we’ve been able to transition all the support services students rely on to a virtual environment."

ACC will provide all standard student support services virtually including advising, academic coaching, library services, and tech support. The college’s free tutoring remains available to all students online. 

Registration begins Monday, May 4. Classes start June 1. Courses that require a significant hands-on component that cannot be converted to online may begin after July 6. The college’s pass/no pass grading option also will be extended through summer.  Students may choose this option after receiving grades at the end of the semester. There is no limit to the number of summer 2020 course sections that students may convert to pass/no pass grading. They may make the decision on a course-by-course basis.

ACC campuses remain closed to the public, students, and non-essential employees until at least May 31.
