The Austin Community College District 2020-25 Academic Master Plan (AMP) will guide ACC's collective academic vision, administrative supports, and strategic plans for the future. The goal is to produce a concise plan that contains "big ideas" and innovative suggestions on how we build upon current initiatives to achieve even greater success for our students over the next five years.
WHY IT'S IMPORTANT
Purpose:
WHO IS IMPACTED
HOW IT ALIGNS WITH OTHER COLLEGE INITIATIVES
The AMP, together with the Districtwide Campus Master Plan and the IT Master Plan, is considered an important companion document to the College's Strategic Plan. All AMP proposals have indicated how they support "strategic themes" outlined in the planning documents.
Whereas the Strategic Plan (2017-2021) already contains most of the programs and activities currently underway at the College, the AMP (2020-2025) identifies the priorities as to "What's next? What will take us to the next level in terms of student success?"
TIMELINE
The process started in December 2019. It was put on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed fall 2020. The final presentation to the ACC Board of Trustees was in November 2020 and the narrative report is expected to be released in spring 2021.
WHO IS INVOLVED
All members of the College constituencies have had a role to play in terms of their function and expertise. All faculty and staff were invited to participate as members of one of the College's 10 Areas of Study to make proposals for College initiatives. A broad-based Steering Committee reviewed Area of Study proposals, considered collegewide needs, and made recommendations to an Executive Committee. The Executive Committee has made the final report to the College Board of Trustees and the narrative document is currently being written.
