ACC participates in Healthcare Simulation Week from September 12 through 16

Austin Community College District (ACC) honors the changing landscape for healthcare professionals to learn and improve patient care through Healthcare Simulation Week. The fifth annual global event, sponsored by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, runs from Monday, September 12, through Friday, September 16.

Healthcare Simulation is a learning tool that recreates a realistic healthcare environment. The goal is to provide students with an atmosphere where they can experience and train in a setting that mirrors the real world. It enhances the teaching and learning experience for students to both gain new skills and refreshes old ones. Students also practice and improve the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

ACC opened the doors to the ACC Regional Simulation Center at Highland Campus last year. The space provides hands-on training for future healthcare professionals through instructional spaces, skills labs, simulation rooms, patient clinic simulations, and support spaces.

In honor of Healthcare Simulation week, ACC Nursing and Surgical Technology students will be running simulations out of the Regional Simulation Center all week.
