Austin Community College District (ACC) hosts an art exhibition honoring the works of Texas native and internationally acclaimed Southwest artist Amado Peña at ACC Highland Campus. Peña’s high-anticipated mural at ACC Highland — ‘Bridges to Success’ — will be unveiled.
Date: Tuesday, September 20
Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: ACC Highland Campus, Building 2000
What: A cocktail reception with specialty hors d’oeuvres will follow the unveiling of the massive mural titled ‘Bridges to Success.’ Additional works of Peña’s also will be on display.
Commissioned in 2017, ‘Bridges to Success’ features an artistic representation of the college's Areas of Study with contributions from both K-12 students across Central Texas and ACC students, faculty, and staff. The mural’s new home will greet students of the Fine and Performing Arts programs at the expanded ACC Highland Campus.
Peña and ACC have a long history together, partnering in the annual Boots & Bats Gala benefiting student scholars. Every dollar raised during the event goes directly to support students along their educational journey through the ACC Foundation and Pena’s Art Has Heart Foundation.
