Government Adjunct Assistant Professor Julia Decker's story about her chance meeting with Ann Richards and Barbara Jordan when she was young was aired on the Texas Standard on KUT-FM 90.5. Hear her story here.
Thomas Nevill, arts and digital media dean, took part of a recording project called PAN ROCKS! He was part of The Pan Rocks Steel Drum Rock Orchestra, which performed the Rush song "Spirit of Radio." The video was released last month. Watch it here.
Music Adjunct Professor Francis Preve did the voiceover and script for a short documentary produced by Native Instruments and the Moog Foundation featuring his work with TONTO, a multitimbral polyphonic synthesizer considered to be one of the most famous and influential in the world. Savannah Rugg, agricultural sciences department chair and assistant professor, was selected for the 2019 cohort of the E. Kika de la Garza Fellowship offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The summer fellowship program offers firsthand experiences in policymaking and research at the USDA and other federal agencies. Only 18 faculty from Hispanic-Serving Institutions across the nation were chosen for this honor. Read the press release here.
