“While 2022 continues to be a challenging time for our students and community, Austin Community College is a nationally recognized college for innovation and collaboration that is transforming the learning experience. The Board of Trustees is committed to taking that momentum forward in the ongoing success and achievement for our students and employees,” says Dr. Nan McRaven, ACC Board Chair. “We will work diligently to make sure the right person is added to the board to meet the college’s goals including equity and access, persistence and engagement, and completion and transition to employment or transfer.”
The ACC BOT officers will screen all applicants and recommend three to five candidates for interviews. The top candidates will be invited to interview with the entire board at a future meeting. A final decision will be made following the interviews by a full board vote.

The new Place 5 appointee will serve in this role until the November 8, 2022 election when the seat is up for election to a full 6-year term. ACC Trustees are elected at-large by registered voters who live within the ACC Taxing District, which includes the City of Austin as well as the Austin, Leander, Manor, Del Valle, Round Rock, Elgin, and Hays Consolidated school districts.
The Place 5 seat was vacated in early February when Trustee Nicole Eversmann resigned. Eversmann was the first and only ACC graduate to date to serve on the board. She stepped down to accept a full-time position with the Texas Association of Community Colleges (TACC) where she continues to advance the mission of the community college as Director of the Community College Association of Texas Trustees (CCATT).
